Artist Statement
I’m an artist who thrives on the raw, hands-on magic of dry materials such as pastel, charcoal, pencil, and graphite. Whether it’s the precision of a single pencil stroke or the bold fusion of textures, I thoroughly explore the creative process, fully connected to the surface. My goal is to create art that resonates with viewers, sparking joy, and fostering a genuine connection. For me, art is an ongoing adventure, fuelled by a passion to craft pieces that evoke emotion and capture beauty.
My art career has been developing for over a decade. I have experimented with different materials and processes to find my niche and style in loose, fresh pastels. I mix the precision of pastel pencils with the loose impressionistic style of hard and soft pastels to truly play honour to the dry medium. Often, my art has been complimented on for it’s loose, painterly like feel and I am proud to show a development in pastels that have inspired others to value the medium.
I have collectors of my work internationally with pieces being sold in the USA and Europe, as well as my home country in the UK.
My art isn’t political, it doesn’t make bold statements and it doesn’t follow trends. It’s created with one purpose, an earnest passion to foster connections with people’s memories and to store moments that deserve to last forever.
