The first spark for Parental Guidance came from an everyday scene at a small outdoor café. A father was gently coaxing his restless son’s attention, he was overheard saying, “Listen, what ice cream do you want?” Their dynamic relationship of the playful defiance of a child met with the quiet patience of a parent captured forever in a pastel painting. It felt instantly like the perfect composition for an artwork.
